Aniridia Europe, the European Federation of Aniridia Associations,  was formally established in September 2011, to promote research, exchange of knowledge and empower patients.

Aniridia Europe Scientific Committee

In November 2012, Aniridia Europe’s Scientific Committee met for the first time in Mestre (Venice). five doctors from 5 countries participated in the meeting:

–      Dr. Tor Utheim. Norway

–      Dr. Paolo Rama. Italy

–      Dr. Juan Álvarez de Toledo. Spain

–      Dr. Hans-Rainhard Koch. Germany

–      Dr. Julie Daniels. United Kingdom

they agreed to trasnlate the existing protocols on aniridia (Spanish and Italian) into English and to work towards a European guideline.

They plan as well to develop a European Register for Aniridia.
